There is no age limit for style. I’ve often heard “dress your age”, what does that even mean? Your style is a representation of who you are. It defines your persona, not your age. It is, however, important to dress accordingly when it comes to dressing for an occasion or place and time. But to “dress according to your age”, that is a stereotype.

Fashion has always been a thing that changes with the times. If we go back in time, we can see how our concept of fashion has evolved. What was considered improper is now acceptable regardless of your age. That doesn’t mean you won’t be criticized for your sense of style. And it wouldn’t be the first time so might as well look good, feel amazing!
Nowadays, we have icons like Gwen Stefani and Yazemeenah Rossi changing the game. They have blurred the lines that limited us women to the conventional lifestyle of what is appropriate and what is not. Lisa Armstrong says “The older you are, the more vital and rewarding fashion becomes” and this statement could not be more true. Read more about Lisa Armstrong’s thoughts on Ageless Fashion.

The way you dress is just as important as the way you carry yourself. Your appearance is a reflection of your demeanor. What you choose to wear shows the world how you feel about yourself and what type of person you are. How you dress on a daily reflects what you do for a living, what your ambitions are and what your world is like. Class and sophistication are portrayed through style as well as laziness and lack of motivation. Learnvest on Forbes Woman interviewed Dr. Jennifer Baumgartner to figure out why and how clothes reveal our personalities, what messages they’re sending and how you can use your wardrobe to change how others perceive you; even how you think about yourself. According to Dr. Baumgartner: “Our clothes help place us where we think we want to be. The worst clothing is the kind that tries to undo, ignore or hide where or who you are; or the kind that shows you didn’t pay attention to your body, age, or situation. Any clothes that prohibit you from doing your job well send the wrong message.”
So go forth and be fearless. Wear your courage, your pride, your sex appeal like today’s fashion because today is all you have. Live the moment as your best self. Look great, feel amazing, be you!
